BRAZIL: Lula leaves imprint on Rousseff ´s administration

Less than a month before leaving Brazil's presidency to his political heir Dilma Rousseff, President Lula da Silva is gradually leaving his DNA in the future administration by promoting his own allies to take important posts in her government. Rousseff has signalled that she will accept at least nine of Lula ´s suggestions in her cabinet.
 
Lula has backtracked on a promise to remain out of the political negotiations of Rousseff ´s cabinet, made three days after the election. “The [Rousseff] government has to have her face," he told journalists at the time. But despite promising to take a backseat, Lula has been working to ensure members of his own administration remain in key posts in Rousseff ´s cabinet.
